铁汉李家鼎(鼎爷)深藏不露，一手鬼斧神工的厨艺功架，教观眾眼界大开！為了满足观眾的「添食」要求，新一辑《阿爷厨房》载誉归来。鼎爷再次施展厨艺「真功夫」，联同食得嘴刁的「好拍档」谭玉瑛(阿谭)，奉上传统粤菜的美味。鼎爷与阿谭每集走访街市、店舖实地选购心水食材，并即席分享拣选优质食材的「小贴士」。鼎爷继而精心设计特色菜单，炮製各式各样的汤水、小菜及甜品，将一道道几近失传的怀旧粤菜呈现观眾眼前！

鼎爷精湛的厨艺师承父亲，他亦多次在节目中忆述跟随「老头子」学厨的「有趣」故事。今回他带来的「白果腐竹燉鸡汤」与「鲜虾酿竹笙」，均是其父从其他菜式改良而成。
另外，鼎爷又利用燉鸡汤，炮製一道鲜甜爽脆的「堂焯螺片」。当中响螺、角螺两种食材於价钱、味道及用途上有何分别？烹调期间，鼎爷顺道分享下厨智慧，且听他讲解把白果轻易去衣的妙法。而在海味店内，他还会分享选购竹笙的要诀。
